Revolution December 2, 2006

Revolution is the student leadership team for students grades 7-12th. Students must be invited to serve on the student leadership team and then interviewed before they can join. Because leaders are held up to a higher standard, we ask our student leaders to sign a commitment form before they can join Revolution.

Revolution meets at least once a month. Students are trained to be leaders, are encouraged to lead in areas of their lives outside of the Journey Ministries, and lead within the Journey Ministries through serving, leading other students, and making decisions for the direction of the ministry.

Bible Studies December 2, 2006

Want to join a bible study group? Here are the bible studies that are going on right now. The bible studies labeled “Open” are for anyone of any faith or background to join. The bible studies labeled “Closed” are geared to specific students. E-mail Maria and we’ll find out if that bible study is right for you! Bible Studies meet from 7-8:30 weekly at leader’s homes throughout the community

Bible Study-One
Nancy’s House

• “Open”- for all students interested in learning more about Christianity or are new Christians
• Curriculum:
  • reading together: “Jesus with Dirty Feet” by Don Everts
  • leader’s curriculum: “Jesus with Dirty Feet Discussion Guide” by Don Everts and Douglas Scott

Bible Study-Two
Doug and Lisa’s House

• “Open”- for all students who want to participate in a same-gender bible study and discuss relevant gender issues
• Curriculum:
  • Girls will read and discuss “What’s Up with Boys?” by Crystal Krigiss and “Mirror Mirror” by Kara Powell and Kendall Payne
  • Guys will read and discuss “The Naked Truth” by Bill Perkins and Randy Southern

Bible Study-Three
Maria’s House

• “Closed”- for Jr. High students who are committed Christ followers
• Curriculum: “The Top 13 Questions about God” from Group Publishing

Bible Study-Four
Mike’s House

• “Closed”- for High School students who are committed Christ followers
• Curriculum:
  • read and discuss parts of the following books: “Coffeehouse Theology” by Jim Thomas, “Blue Like Jazz” by Don Miller, and “Revolution” edited by Heather Zydek
  • also uses spiritual disciplines from “Soul Shaper” by Tony Jones
